Another 1,000 words squeezed out of my poor brain. To go back to my road trip metaphor, I am missing a chunk of my map. I have a vague idea of the direction I want to travel, but no idea what roads to take to get there. I am going to have to stop at some point and see if I can fill in that missing chunk.
One thing I’m hoping will help is a book that just arrived in the mail today. Story Engineering, by Larry Brooks. It has great guidance on setting up the landmarks for your story, so that you have a better idea of your journey. Here’s hoping it helps.
