Today was more of the foundational work. Today was the day I started looking at the blueprint of how I want to build this story, and compared it to the pieces I already have. Some of them will work for the build, and some won’t.

I grabbed both my Save the Cat beat sheet and my Story Engineering worksheet and started working on what scenes might go where, what each characters individual beat sheet might look like, etc. Some things already seem to fall in place nicely. I have decided that Part 1 will be the past, and the present will fill Parts 2 & 3. So, of scenes I have already written, I have 23 for the past and 42 for the present. I’ll need about another 20 or so to have Part 2 well fleshed out. But I believe there is plenty of story still to tell. It will just be a matter of figuring out what to tell and how to tell it.
As far as my editing timeline goes, I’m hoping to take another two days with building the structure, and then start the actual revision by the 8th of December. I’m hoping to shoot for about 2,000 words per day, which should put this revision completed by mid-January.
