Broke 14,000 words today. It helped that the two chapters I focused on today had been in the original draft, so today, it was mostly tweaking those words. But it brings me much closer to where I’m trying to get. I have four more chapters from 1995 to write, then I’m off to 2006. Once I get there, my story is much more solid, at least for Acts 1 and 2. I still need to shore up some near the end, but I should be able to amp up my word count sufficiently before then.
So, today is the last day of 2020. It has been a year filled with ups and downs, but I’d like to think there’s been steady improvement. I have written just about every single day since November 1, putting in a total of maybe 80,000 words altogether, including my blog posts and novel notes. I’m hoping to be even more productive in the new year, and I think these last two months have given me a boost in that direction. I still hope to have this revision mostly hammered out by the end of January. Happy New Year to all of you who have taken the time to read this, who have cheered me on throughout this process. May 2021 be a wonderful year for you all!
