Echoes, Day 12, Part 2

6,440 words. All the main characters have taken the stage. And things are about to start getting hairy for them. Not that they don’t already have some problems to deal with. But those problems are about to explode…literally.

So, my thoughts so far. These flashbacks, which I thought were good as they stood, lacked quite a bit. There was no real conflict, no subtext. But now these seven feel a lot more real to me than they ever have before in their 14+ years of existence. I’m hoping they will feel that way to my readers as well. But…there is still a looooong way to go between then and now. Just a little shy of ten percent, which I figure to be somewhere around 7-8,000 words. Some of the next bits should be easier, as there is more of my previous draft I can carry over. All in all, I’m feeling pretty good about this. So far…
