All the main characters have taken the stage. And things are about to start getting hairy for them. Not that they don&#8217;t already have some problems to deal with. But those problems are about to explode&#8230;literally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, my thoughts so far. These flashbacks, which I thought were good as they stood, lacked quite a bit. There was no real conflict, no subtext. But now these seven feel a lot more real to me than they ever have before in their 14+ years of existence. I&#8217;m hoping they will feel that way to my readers as well. But&#8230;there is still a looooong way to go between then and now. Just a little shy of ten percent, which I figure to be somewhere around 7-8,000 words. Some of the next bits should be easier, as there is more of my previous draft I can carry over.
