Another 1,026 words this morning, less than 2,000 to go. But they are becoming harder and harder the closer I get to the end. Having already written the ending, I’m having to go back to other parts of the story. And this has shown me, that as the story currently stands, it does not have enough to hold it together. I need another subplot possibly, if I have any hope of expanding this to an actual novel size. But nothing has sprung up yet. I did have one major plot change, which allowed me to write what I wrote today. Originally, I had Leon chase after Grylos by himself, but then it occurred to me, what if he had a partner back then, and because of certain events, he vowed never to have a partner again? That would show why he has been so standoffish to Ernie and reluctant to bring him in on his hunt. So, the thousand words today were building on that. The next 2,000? No idea yet.
